Instructions:

  1. In a food processor work bowl fitted with a steel knife, mince garlic and onion. Add Italian parsley and bread crumbs, then process again until finely minced and mixed well.

  2. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs (or egg whites) and add turkey breast, minced mixture from the food processor, salt, pepper, 1/4 cup of tomato sauce, and 1 tablespoon of parmesan cheese. Mix well until thoroughly combined.

  3. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it onto a baking pan sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Cover the loaf with plastic wrap and refrigerate until ready to bake. This step not only enhances the flavors but also makes it easier to slice.

  4. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

  5. Bake the meatloaf for 30 minutes.

  6. Pour the remainder of the tomato sauce over the top of the loaf, then sprinkle with oregano and the remaining 2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese.

  7. Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 30 minutes, until it is cooked through and golden brown on top.

  8. Allow the meatloaf to stand for 10 minutes before slicing. This allows the flavors to meld together and ensures easier slicing.

Notes:

  • For a lighter option, you can use egg whites instead of whole eggs.
  • Feel free to customize the recipe by adding your favorite herbs and spices to the turkey mixture.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or frozen for longer storage.
  • Serve slices of this flavorful Turkey Meatloaf — Italian Style with your favorite side dishes, such as mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a crisp salad, for a satisfying and wholesome meal.

Enjoy the aroma of this Italian-inspired turkey meatloaf as it fills your kitchen, and savor every bite of its juicy, flavorful goodness! 🍽️
