Pindang Tempe: A Flavorful Indonesian Delight

In a pot, combine the pindang fish (or shrimp), tempe, sliced shallots, garlic, and crushed galangal, excluding the tomatoes, salt, and sugar. Add enough water to cover the ingredients and adjust based on your preference.

Bring the mixture to a boil. Once boiling, add salt and sugar to taste, allowing the flavors to meld. Cook until the tempe is tender, then add the green tomatoes and allow the pot to return to a gentle boil.
