Description:
This delightful and refreshing Quick Lemon Iced Tea is the ideal solution for those moments when you crave a refreshing beverage but don’t need a full pitcher. Perfectly suited for a single serving, this recipe combines the bright, zesty flavor of fresh lemons with the bold taste of black tea. Whether you prefer a sweetened version or enjoy it without any added sugar, you have the flexibility to customize it to your liking. If you love a robust lemon flavor, feel free to squeeze in more lemon juice; otherwise, simply adjust the amount to suit your taste. Luzianne black tea is my go-to for this recipe, although I sometimes like to experiment by mixing it with a flavored herbal tea, such as blackberry, for an extra twist.

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Water: Begin by pouring 8 ounces of water into a microwave-safe measuring cup. Place the measuring cup in the microwave and heat it on high for approximately 2 and a half to 3 minutes, or until the water reaches a boil.

  2. Steep the Tea: Once the water is hot, carefully remove it from the microwave, and place 2 tea bags into the hot water. Allow the tea bags to steep for about 4 minutes, letting the flavors infuse into the water.

  3. Prepare the Glass: While the tea is steeping, take a 20-ounce drinking glass and fill it with ice cubes, leaving just a little space at the top to avoid overflow. Squeeze a quarter of a fresh lemon over the ice cubes, allowing the juice to mix with the melting ice.

  4. Combine Tea and Lemon: After the tea has steeped for the designated time, remove the tea bags and pour the hot tea over the glass filled with ice and lemon. Gently stir the mixture, ensuring the lemon juice blends evenly with the warm tea.

  5. Serve: Your Quick Lemon Iced Tea is now ready to enjoy! Serve it cold and sweetened with artificial sweetener if you desire, adjusting the sweetness to your preference.

Indulge in this quick and invigorating iced tea whenever the mood strikes, and feel free to experiment with flavors to make it your own. Whether it’s a hot summer day or simply a moment to relax, this recipe provides a delightful burst of citrusy refreshment that you can whip up in minutes.
