Spicy Tuna in Tomato Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 fresh tuna fish, steamed and deep-fried until cooked
  • Large chilies (to taste)
  • Small chilies (to taste)
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • Approximately 10 shallots
  • Cooking oil
  • Sugar, salt, and seasoning to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tuna: Begin by steaming the fresh tuna until tender, then deep-fry it until golden and cooked through. Once the fish is ready, shred it into bite-sized pieces and set aside.

  2. Prepare the Spice Blend: Peel and chop the garlic and shallots. Slice the large and small chilies according to your heat preference. Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the garlic, shallots, and chilies to the pan, cooking until they are softened and aromatic.

  3. Blend the Spice Mixture: Once the garlic, shallots, and chilies have softened, remove them from the pan and place them into a blender. Blend until you achieve a smooth paste.

  4. Cook the Spice Paste: Return the blended spice paste to the pan. Cook over medium heat until the paste is fragrant and begins to caramelize slightly, which will deepen its flavor.

  5. Combine with Tuna: Add the shredded tuna into the pan with the spice paste. Stir well to ensure the tuna is evenly coated with the spice mixture.

  6. Season: Season the mixture with sugar, salt, and seasoning according to your taste. Continue to cook for a few minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.

  7. Serve: Once everything is well combined and heated through, remove from heat. Transfer the spicy tuna to a serving dish and enjoy hot.
