Ingredients:

  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup Bourbon

Instructions:

Step Description
1 Set up a pan on the stove with about 1″ of water, heating it until it’s shimmering. Make sure the bowl of your stand mixer (or mixing bowl if using a hand mixer) fits into the pan without touching the water.
2 In the bowl of an electric mixer (or your mixing bowl if using a hand mixer), combine eggs, sugar, and salt.
3 Heat the mixture over the shimmering water while whisking gently but constantly until it reaches 165°F. Avoid mixing too vigorously at this stage to prevent prolonging the heating process.
4 Once heated, place the bowl in the mixer and, using the whisk attachment, beat the mixture until it becomes thick and cool.
5 Gently mix in the pure vanilla extract and Bourbon until well combined.
6 Serve the Bourbon Sauce at room temperature over your favorite desserts such as bread pudding, ice cream, cake, or biscuits. Enjoy the delightful flavors!
