BBQ King Prawns Recipe ๐Ÿค

Description: Do not overcook the prawns. If you prefer, you can cook the prawns over high heat in a fry pan. Wonderful to cook for company; you are only busy for a couple of minutes. Serve with crusty bread & green salad. Serve as an appetizer (but this is an expensive app).

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
Fresh parsley 2 sprigs
Lite olive oil 1 tbsp
Barbecue sauce 1/2 cup
Fresh lemon juice 2 tbsp
Honey 2 tbsp
Garlic 1 clove
Fresh chives 4 sprigs
King prawns 2 dozen

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Marinade:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine the lite olive oil, chopped fresh parsley, barbecue sauce, fresh lemon juice, honey, minced garlic, and finely chopped fresh chives. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Marinate the Prawns:

    • Place the king prawns in a zip lock bag or a bowl large enough to accommodate them.
    • Pour the prepared marinade over the prawns, ensuring they are well coated.
    • Seal the zip lock bag or cover the bowl, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to infuse. Rotate the bag or stir the prawns in the bowl a couple of times during marination to ensure even coating.
  3. Preheat the Grill:

    • Preheat your barbecue grill to medium-high heat. Ensure the grill grates are clean and lightly oiled to prevent sticking.
  4. Grill the Prawns:

    • Once the grill is hot, remove the marinated prawns from the refrigerator.
    • Place the prawns on the preheated grill, ensuring they are spread out evenly.
    • Grill the prawns for about 2 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and opaque, with grill marks forming.
    • Avoid overcooking the prawns to maintain their juicy texture and delicate flavor.
  5. Serve:

    • Once cooked, transfer the BBQ king prawns to a serving platter.
    • Garnish with additional chopped parsley and chives, if desired.
    • Serve immediately with crusty bread and a fresh green salad for a delightful lunch or snack.

Enjoy these succulent BBQ king prawns as a delectable appetizer or main dish, perfect for any occasion. Their tantalizing flavors and tender texture are sure to impress your guests and leave them craving for more!
