  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 8 ounces dark chocolate, finely chopped

Instructions:

Step Description
1 Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
2 In a heavy saucepan, bring half-and-half and heavy cream to a boil over medium heat.
3 Reduce heat to low and add the finely chopped dark chocolate. Whisk continuously until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
4 Remove the chocolate mixture from heat and set aside.
5 In a large mixing bowl, whisk together egg yolks and 1/3 cup granulated sugar until well blended.

9 Place the filled cups in a large baking pan and carefully pour enough hot water into the pan to reach halfway up the sides of the cups.

11 Remove the custard cups from the water bath and allow them to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
