Recipe Instructions:

  1. In a food processor or mixer, combine the sugar, 3/4 tsp salt, yeast, and 2 cups of flour. Mix well for 5-10 seconds until evenly distributed.

  2. While the processor is running, gradually add warm water and olive oil in a steady stream. Mix for 1 minute or until the dough is smooth and elastic.

  3. Check the consistency of the dough; if needed, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour to adjust.

  4. Turn the dough onto a floured surface and roll it out into a 15″ x 12″ rectangle.

  5. Using a sharp knife or pizza cutter, cut the dough into 12 strips.

  6. Fold each strip in half lengthwise, then twist each strip several times to create a spiral shape. Pinch the ends to seal.

  7. Place the twisted dough strips 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheet.
