I had a hankering to make a pork roast with apple and this is what I came up with. I hope you like it!

Recipe Instructions

  1. Prepare Ingredients:

    • Cut the apple in half.
    • Slice one half fairly thin and place it on the bottom of a roaster.
    • Slice the second half of the apple thinly and set it aside.
  2. Assemble the Roast:

    • Place the pork roast on top of the sliced apples in the roaster.
    • Slice the onion into rings and place them on top and around the pork roast.
  3. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, mix together apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and chopped dill.
  4. Cooking Process:

    • Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
    • Pour the prepared sauce evenly over the pork roast.
    • Cover the roaster with foil or a lid.
  5. Roasting:

    • Place the pork roast in the preheated oven.
    • Every half hour or so, baste the roast with the juices that accumulate in the roaster.
  6. Cooking Time:

    • Cook the pork roast for approximately 3 hours or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. The internal temperature should reach at least 145°F (63°C) for safe consumption.
  7. Resting:

    • Once cooked, remove the pork roast from the oven.
    • Let it rest in the roaster for about 15 minutes before carving. This allows the juices to redistribute within the meat, ensuring a moist and flavorful roast.
