Spicy Indonesian Tilapia (Ikan Nila Balado)
Ingredients:
- 10 tilapia fish, cleaned
- 2 limes, juiced
- 2 tablespoons grated palm sugar
- Salt, to taste
Spices (ground):
- 25 shallots
- 20 cloves garlic
- 34 bird’s eye chilies (adjust to taste for spiciness)
- 180 grams curly red chilies
- 4 tomatoes
- 4 cm ginger
Instructions:

Marinate the tilapia fish with salt and lime juice. Let it sit for a few minutes.

Fry the tilapia fish until golden brown and cooked through.

In a separate pan, sauté the ground spices until fragrant. Add salt and palm sugar.

Adjust seasoning to taste. Add the fried tilapia fish to the pan and mix well until the fish is coated evenly with the spices.
