Simple Siamese Nila Soup Recipe
Ingredients:
- 3 baby Siamese gourds (labuh siam), cut to preference
- 2 carrots, sliced as desired
- 1 whole Nila fish, cleaned and prepared
- Ground spices:
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper
- 3 large garlic cloves
- Salt and seasoning to taste
- 1 liter water
Steps:
- Prepare the Vegetables and Fish: Slice the Siamese gourds and carrots according to your preference. Clean the Nila fish thoroughly and set aside.
- Blend the Spices: In a blender or mortar and pestle, grind together the garlic cloves and ground pepper until smooth.
- Combine Ingredients: In a pot, add the ground spices, prepared vegetables, Nila fish, and water.
- Cook the Soup: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer until the vegetables are tender and the fish is cooked through.
- Season to Taste: Add salt and seasoning as desired. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
- Serve: Remove from heat and serve hot.
