Black Pepper Chicken (Ayam Lada Hitam)

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg chicken fillet, cut into cubes
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 tablespoons sweet soy sauce
  • A pinch of seasoning powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • Sugar, to taste
  • 4 green chilies, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Fresh vegetables for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken: Begin by cutting the chicken fillet into bite-sized cubes. In a mixing bowl, coat the chicken with soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, and black pepper. Let it marinate for 15 to 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.

  2. Sauté Aromatics: Heat a pan over medium heat and add a little oil. Sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, then add the diced onion and sliced green chilies. Cook until the onions are translucent and the chilies are slightly tender.

  3. Cook the Chicken: Add the marinated chicken to the pan. Stir-fry until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and no longer pink in the center. Adjust the seasoning by adding sugar, salt, and seasoning powder to taste.
