Catfish Soup Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 250 grams catfish fillets, deboned
  • 50 grams ear mushrooms
  • 100 grams corn kernels
  • 1 stalk green onion, finely sliced
  • 500 ml liquid milk
  • 50 grams carrots, diced
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons flour or cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: Begin by preparing your ingredients. Cut the catfish fillets into bite-sized pieces, ensuring to remove any remaining bones. Rub the catfish with lime juice to eliminate any fishy odor.

  2. Fry the Catfish: Heat a pan and lightly fry the catfish pieces until they are half-cooked. Set aside.

  3. Sauté Aromatics: In a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and garlic. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent and caramelizes, releasing a fragrant aroma.

  4. Cook the Catfish: Add the partially cooked catfish to the pan with the sautéed onion and garlic. Stir and cook until the catfish turns pale and is nearly cooked through.

  5. Add Flour: Sprinkle the flour or cornstarch over the fish mixture. Stir quickly to ensure the flour is evenly incorporated and cooks slightly, giving a light brown color.

  6. Season: Season with ground black pepper, salt, and sugar. Mix well.

  7. Combine Ingredients: Pour in the liquid milk and add the ear mushrooms, corn kernels, sliced green onion, and diced carrots. Stir to combine all the ingredients.

  8. Simmer: Reduce the heat to low and let the soup simmer until it reaches a boil. Continue to cook until the vegetables are tender and the soup has thickened slightly.

  9. Adjust Seasoning: Taste the soup and adjust the seasoning if needed, balancing the salt and sweetness to your preference.

  10. Serve: Once the soup is hot and the flavors have melded together, remove from heat. Serve hot and enjoy the comforting and addictive flavors of this delicious catfish soup!

This Catfish Soup is a delightful blend of creamy milk, tender catfish, and a variety of vegetables, creating a rich and satisfying meal that will have you coming back for more.
