Hearty Beef Bone Soup with Ginger and Nutmeg
Simple Beef Bone Soup (Sop Tulang Sapi Sederhana)
Ingredients:
- 500 grams beef bones
- 1.5 liters water
- 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
- 1/4 nutmeg
- 2 carrots, sliced
- Ground black pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- Beef seasoning to taste
- 2 stalks of green onions, sliced
- For Serving:
- Sliced bird’s eye chilies
- Fried shallots
- Lime wedges
 
Instructions:
- 
Prepare the Broth: In a large pot, bring the water to a boil. Add the beef bones and ginger. Reduce the heat and simmer until the broth becomes flavorful and the water has reduced slightly.

Season the Broth: Add the nutmeg, ground black pepper, salt, and beef seasoning. Stir to combine.

Add Vegetables: Incorporate the sliced carrots and green onions into the pot. Continue to simmer until the carrots are tender and the flavors have melded together.

Serve: Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with sliced bird’s eye chilies, fried shallots, and a squeeze of lime juice to taste.
