Black Pepper Beef (Daging Sapi Lada Hitam)
Ingredients:
- 500 grams beef, thinly sliced
- For the Spice Paste:
- 1 clove garlic
- 10 shallots
- 1 onion
- 1 thumb-sized piece of ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- Beef flavor seasoning (Masako sapi), to taste
- Soy sauce (Kecap Bango), to taste
- Cooking oil
- A pinch of brown sugar
Instructions:

Prepare the Spice Paste:
- Begin by finely grinding the garlic, shallots, onion, and ginger together to create a smooth spice paste.

Cook the Spice Paste:
- Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the ground spice paste to the pan and sauté until it becomes fragrant and the raw smell disappears.

Add Beef and Sweetener:
- Incorporate the thinly sliced beef into the pan, stirring to coat the meat evenly with the spice paste.
- Sprinkle in a pinch of brown sugar and mix well to combine.

Simmer the Beef:
- Allow the beef to cook until it becomes tender, stirring occasionally to ensure it cooks evenly.

- Once the beef is tender, add the black pepper and beef flavor seasoning (Masako sapi) to taste.
- Thinly slice the onion and add it to the pan along with the beef.
