Instant Rendang Beef with Bamboe Seasoning
Ingredients:
- 1 kg beef, cut into chunks
- 4 cloves garlic
- 8 shallots
- 3 candlenuts
- 60 red bird’s eye chilies (adjust to taste for spiciness)
- 1 sachet beef flavor seasoning (such as Masako Sapi)
- 2 sachets Bamboe Rendang seasoning
- 200 ml Kara coconut milk
- 4 kaffir lime leaves
- Water, as needed for boiling
- Oil, for sautéing
Instructions:

Prepare the Beef:
- Boil the beef chunks in water until tender, reducing the liquid to approximately 2 cups. Set the beef and the remaining cooking liquid aside.

Make the Spice Paste:
- While the beef is cooking, blend the garlic, shallots, candlenuts, kaffir lime leaves, and red bird’s eye chilies until smooth.

Cook the Spice Paste:
- Heat some oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the blended spice paste and sauté until the mixture changes color and becomes aromatic.

Combine Ingredients:
- Stir in the Bamboe Rendang seasoning and coconut milk. Mix thoroughly until the seasoning is evenly distributed.

Simmer the Rendang:
- Add the boiled beef and the reserved cooking liquid to the pan. Stir well to combine. Cook the mixture, stirring occasionally, until the coconut milk thickens and the color turns a deep brown. Adjust seasoning with the beef flavor seasoning if necessary.

Finish and Serve:
- Check the flavor and adjust as needed. Once the sauce has thickened and the beef is well-coated, remove from heat. Serve hot.
