Black Pepper Beef (Sapi Lada Hitam)
This delectable Indonesian dish, Sapi Lada Hitam, features tender beef tenderloin stir-fried with a fragrant black pepper sauce and colorful vegetables. Ingredients:
- 150 g Beef Tenderloin: Thinly sliced
- 5 g Garlic: Minced
- 5 g Ginger: Minced
- 1 g Black Pepper: Freshly ground
- 15 cc Sesame Oil
- 10 cc Oyster Sauce
- 15 cc Sweet Soy Sauce
- 10 cc A1 Sauce
- 10 cc English Soy Sauce
- 5 g Black Pepper: Coarsely ground
- 10 g Brown Sugar
- 1 tsp Cornstarch + Water
- Vegetables:
- 50 g Red Bell Pepper: Diced
- 25 g Green Bell Pepper: Diced
- 25 g Onion: Diced
Instructions:

Marinate the Beef:
- Prepare the beef tenderloin by slicing it thinly and gently pounding it with the back of a knife.
- Rub the beef with minced garlic, minced ginger, freshly ground black pepper, white pepper, salt, and sesame oil. Let it marinate for 5 to 10 minutes.

Prepare the Vegetables:
- Dice the red bell pepper, green bell pepper, and onion into small cubes.

Cook the Beef:
- Heat a small amount of oil in a pan over medium heat. Stir-fry the marinated beef until it turns brown. Remove the beef from the pan and set it aside.

- In the same pan, add the remaining oil and pour in all the sauce ingredients: oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, A1 sauce, and English soy sauce.
- Stir in the diced bell peppers and onion, cooking until they begin to soften.

- Return the beef to the pan and toss everything together. Cook until the beef is heated through and the flavors meld.
- Mix the cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry and add it to the pan. Stir until the sauce thickens to your liking.
