Ayam Pop Crispy with Teriyaki Beef Meatballs

Elevate your dining experience with this delightful fusion of crispy chicken and savory teriyaki beef meatballs. Perfect for a cozy meal, this dish combines tender chicken with a crispy coating and flavorful sauce that will leave your taste buds dancing.

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 kg chicken breast fillets, diced
  • 2 sachets Sasa seasoned flour
  • Beef meatballs (cooked, optional)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1/2 large tomato (optional), chopped
  • Green onions, for garnish
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 sachet Saori Teriyaki Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • Royco seasoning, to taste
  • Ice water, as needed
  • Cooking oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • To achieve a crispy texture, start by creating both wet and dry coatings. For the wet coating, mix 2 tablespoons of Sasa seasoned flour with 4 tablespoons of ice water, adjusting the consistency to your preference. Set aside.
    • For the dry coating, place the remaining seasoned flour in a separate bowl.
  2. Coat the Chicken:

    • Dip the diced chicken pieces into the wet mixture, ensuring they are well-coated. Then, transfer them to the dry seasoned flour. Press the chicken pieces into the flour to ensure a thick, crispy coating.
  3. Fry the Chicken:

    • Heat oil in a pan until it is hot enough for frying. Carefully add the coated chicken pieces to the hot oil, cooking over medium heat. Fry until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, ensuring it is crispy on the outside.
  4. Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a separate pan, heat a small amount of oil. Add minced garlic and sliced onion, sautéing until they are fragrant and translucent.
    • If using, add the chopped tomato and cook until softened.
    • Stir in the Saori Teriyaki Sauce, chili sauce, ground black pepper, and a pinch of Royco seasoning. Adjust the seasoning to taste and add a touch of bouillon powder if desired.
  5. Combine and Serve:

    • Once the sauce ingredients are well-mixed and aromatic, turn off the heat.
    • Add the crispy chicken and cooked beef meatballs (if using) to the pan with the sauce. Toss gently to coat everything evenly.
    • Garnish with chopped green onions and serve immediately to maintain the crispiness of the chicken.

Serving Suggestions:

  • This dish pairs wonderfully with steamed rice and a fresh salad reminiscent of a Japanese-style Hokben salad.

Enjoy your Ayam Pop Crispy with Teriyaki Beef Meatballs, a delicious and satisfying meal that brings together the best of savory and crispy flavors!
