Ayam Saus Jeruk Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 150 grams chicken fillet, diced
  • All-purpose seasoning flour
  • Oil for frying

For the Sauce:

  • 1 cup water
  • Juice of 2 oranges
  • 3 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch slurry (1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 onion, finely chopped

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    • Coat the diced chicken fillet with all-purpose seasoning flour. Ensure each piece is well-coated.
    • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the coated chicken pieces until they turn golden brown and are cooked through. Remove the chicken from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  2. Make the Orange Sauce:

    • In a separate pan, bring the water to a boil. Add the granulated sugar and stir until dissolved.
    • Add the finely chopped onion to the boiling water. Let it cook for a few minutes until the onion softens.
    • Pour in the freshly squeezed orange juice and stir to combine.
    • Add the mayonnaise to the pan, stirring continuously until the mayonnaise is fully dissolved and the mixture is well combined.
    • Stir in the cornstarch slurry gradually, and continue to cook while stirring until the sauce thickens and reaches a glossy consistency.
    • Season with salt to taste.
  3. Combine and Serve:

    • Once the sauce is ready and thickened, pour it over the fried chicken pieces, ensuring they are well coated.
    • Serve immediately and enjoy the flavorful fusion of crispy chicken with tangy, sweet orange sauce.
