Simple Beef Steak Recipe

Indulge in a hearty and satisfying meal with this delightful Simple Beef Steak recipe, perfect for both seasoned chefs and kitchen novices alike. This dish features tender beef steak paired with golden, crispy potatoes and a flavorful steak sauce that elevates the entire dining experience. Follow these steps to create a delicious steak dinner with a touch of homemade flair.

Ingredients

For the Beef Steak:

  • Beef steak (choose your preferred cut)
  • Potatoes

For the Spice Mix:

  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • Salt to taste
  • Soy sauce (to taste)

For the Steak Sauce:

  • 1 onion
  • Oyster sauce
  • Chili sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • Sugar to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef:

    • Rinse the beef steak under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
    • Using a mortar and pestle or a spice grinder, finely crush the black peppercorns and garlic cloves. Rub this mixture onto the beef steak, ensuring it’s well-coated. Add a dash of soy sauce for extra flavor. Allow the beef to marinate for about 30 minutes, letting the spices infuse into the meat.
  2. Prepare the Potatoes:

    • Peel the potatoes and cut them into rectangular strips.
    • Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the potato strips until they turn golden brown and crispy. Remove the potatoes from the oil and drain them on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  3. Cook the Beef Steak:

    • Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle with a small amount of butter. Once the skillet is hot, place the marinated beef steak in the pan.
    • Cook the steak over low heat, turning occasionally, until the beef develops a rich brown color on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside. Cooking over a low flame helps to avoid burning the meat.
  4. Make the Steak Sauce:

    • Slice the onion thinly and sauté it in a pan until it becomes translucent and fragrant.
    • Add a splash of water to the pan, then stir in the oyster sauce and chili sauce. Season with salt and sugar according to your taste preferences. Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are well combined and the sauce has slightly thickened.
  5. Serve:

    • Once the steak is cooked to your desired doneness, remove it from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
    • Serve the beef steak with the crispy potato strips and drizzle with the prepared steak sauce. Enjoy your meal!

Notes

For an extra touch, consider garnishing the steak with fresh herbs or a sprinkle of extra black pepper. This simple yet delicious steak recipe is perfect for a cozy dinner at home and pairs wonderfully with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables. Enjoy!
