Perfect for a comforting meal or an impressive dish for guests, this recipe offers a wonderful balance of taste and simplicity. Here’s how you can recreate this flavorful dish in your own kitchen:

Ingredients

For the Fried Rice:

  • 3 slices of wagyu sausage (adjust according to preference)
  • 5 beef meatballs (adjust according to preference)
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 shallots, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon beef bouillon or Totole seasoning
  • Olive oil or vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon Bon Cabe (a spicy chili seasoning)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sweet soy sauce (kecap manis), to taste
  • Fish sauce (kecap ikan), to taste

For the Scrambled Eggs:

  • 3 tablespoons UHT milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon low-protein flour (such as cake flour)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Scrambled Eggs:

    • In a bowl, beat the eggs and mix in the salt and milk.
    • Add the flour to the egg mixture and stir until well combined.
    • Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and add a small amount of oil.
    • Pour in a portion of the egg mixture and cook gently, spreading it to form a thin layer. Allow it to cook until just set, then top with another layer of egg mixture.
    • Repeat the process until all the egg mixture is used. Once cooked, remove from the pan and slice into desired pieces.
  2. Prepare the Fried Rice:

    • Heat oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat.
    • Add the finely chopped garlic and shallots, and sauté until fragrant.
    • Incorporate the sliced wagyu sausage and beef meatballs into the pan. Cook until the meat is nicely browned and aromatic.
    • Add the cooked rice, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Bon Cabe. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
    • Season the rice with fish sauce, sweet soy sauce, and beef bouillon or Totole seasoning. Mix thoroughly until everything is evenly distributed and heated through.
  3. Serve:

    • Mold the fried rice into small bowls or serving dishes for a neat presentation.
    • Arrange the sliced scrambled eggs on top or alongside the fried rice.
    • Serve immediately, enjoying the vibrant flavors and satisfying textures of this classic Indonesian dish.

This recipe offers a versatile base, allowing you to adjust ingredients based on your preferences or what you have available. The combination of savory beef, spicy chili, and the delicate sweetness of the soy sauces creates a truly memorable meal that will delight your taste buds.
