Tahu Aci
Ingredients
- 10 pieces of yellow tofu
- 5 tablespoons tapioca flour
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 stalk green onion, finely sliced
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- Salt & bouillon powder to taste
- Water as needed
Sambal (Spicy Sweet Soy Sauce)
- Sweet soy sauce
- Bird’s eye chilies, coarsely ground or finely sliced, mixed with the sweet soy sauce
Steps
- Prepare the Tofu: Cut the yellow tofu into triangular pieces. Soak them in salted water for about 5-7 minutes, then drain the water.
- Scoop and Mash: Scoop out the insides of the tofu using a spoon. Set the scooped tofu aside and mash it until smooth.
- Boil Water: Boil water with the minced garlic until it’s infused with the garlic flavor.
- Mix the Filling: In a bowl, mix the tapioca flour, all-purpose flour, bouillon powder, green onions, and the mashed tofu.
- Add Hot Water: Gradually pour the hot garlic-infused water into the mixture while stirring continuously until you achieve a dough-like consistency.
- Stuff the Tofu: Fill the hollowed tofu pieces with the tapioca mixture.
- Fry the Tofu: Heat oil in a pan and deep fry the stuffed tofu until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Remove the tofu from the oil and let it drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil. Your Tahu Aci is now ready to be served!
- Prepare the Sambal: Mix sweet soy sauce with the coarsely ground or finely sliced bird’s eye chilies.
