Telur Dadar Gulung (Indonesian Rolled Omelette)

Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 small carrot
  • 5 bird’s eye chilies
  • 2 stalks of green onions
  • Salt, to taste
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • Cooking oil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:

    • Crack the eggs into a bowl and beat them well.
    • Peel and julienne the carrot into thin matchstick-sized pieces.
    • Slice the bird’s eye chilies thinly.
    • Chop the green onions into fine pieces.
  2. Combine the Ingredients:

    • Add the julienned carrot, sliced chilies, and chopped green onions to the beaten eggs.
    • Season the mixture with salt and ground black pepper to taste. Mix well to combine all the ingredients evenly.
  3. Cook the Omelette:

    • Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a small amount of cooking oil.
    • Pour a portion of the egg mixture into the pan, spreading it out into a thin layer.
    • Allow the egg to cook until it is partially set but still slightly runny on top.
    • Carefully roll the partially cooked omelette from one end to the other, using a spatula to help if necessary.
    • Pour another portion of the egg mixture into the pan and cook until set. Once again, roll the omelette with the already cooked section, repeating the process until all the egg mixture is used.
  4. Finish and Serve:

    • Continue cooking and rolling until the omelette is fully cooked and golden brown.
    • Remove from the pan and let it cool slightly before slicing into bite-sized pieces.
    • Serve the Telur Dadar Gulung warm, and enjoy!
