Buncis Orak-Arik Telur Nyammii (Stir-Fried Green Beans with Egg)

Ingredients:

  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 kg green beans (buncis)
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 red chilies (cabe merah keriting)
  • Ground black pepper
  • Salt
  • Seasoning powder (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Green Beans: Start by thoroughly washing the green beans. Trim the ends and cut them into bite-sized pieces.

  2. Prepare the Aromatics: Peel and finely chop the garlic cloves. Slice the red chilies into thin rings, discarding the seeds if you prefer less heat.

  3. Cook the Aromatics: Heat a splash of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chopped garlic and sliced chilies to the pan, sautéing until they become fragrant and the garlic turns golden.

  4. Add the Egg: Crack the egg into the pan and scramble it gently, mixing it with the garlic and chilies until it is mostly cooked through.

  5. Add the Green Beans: Add the prepared green beans to the pan. Stir-fry everything together until the beans are tender but still crisp.

  6. Season the Dish: Sprinkle in ground black pepper, salt, and a dash of seasoning powder (if using). Stir well to combine and allow the flavors to meld.

  7. Serve: Once everything is cooked and well-seasoned, transfer the stir-fry to a serving dish. Enjoy this delicious and simple meal!

This dish pairs wonderfully with steamed rice or as a side to your favorite main course. Enjoy your flavorful and satisfying meal!
