Lemon Pepper Fish is a quick and flavorful stir-fry made with basa fish, seasoned with the refreshing taste of lemon and the heat of crushed black pepper. The addition of curry leaves and green chilies gives the dish a delightful crunch and extra flavor, complementing the soft and tender basa fish. Though basa fish is recommended, you can also use seer fish or tuna as alternatives for this tasty appetizer.

Ingredients:
- 500 grams Basa fish (cut into pieces)
- 1 sprig Curry leaves
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds (Rai/Kadugu)
- 4 cloves Garlic (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds (Saunf)
- 2 teaspoons Whole Black Peppercorns (crushed)
- 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
- 1 Lemon (juice)
- Salt (to taste)
- Oil (for cooking)
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a kadai (wok). Add mustard seeds and allow them to crackle for a few seconds.
- Add curry leaves and let them crackle for a few more seconds.
- Stir in fennel seeds and sauté briefly for a few seconds.
- Add the chopped garlic and green chilies. Sauté for a few minutes until the garlic softens.
- Add the basa fish pieces, followed by turmeric powder, crushed black pepper, and salt. Stir well to combine.
- Cook the fish until done, making sure all the flavors meld together.
- Once cooked, drizzle lemon juice over the fish and mix everything properly.
- Serve hot with a side of Peppery Mushroom Biryani, Palak Raita, and a fresh salad to complete the meal.
