Instructions
-
Prepare the Vegetables:
Rinse and peel the vegetables—carrots, beetroot, potatoes. Chop them finely. In a pressure cooker, add the chopped vegetables, green peas, sweet corn, salt, and just 1/4 cup of water. Pressure cook for 3 whistles, then turn off the heat. Let the pressure release naturally. -
Mash the Vegetables:
Once done, discard the water and mash the vegetables well. Set them aside. -
Prepare the Mixture:
Heat 1 tsp of oil in a pan. Add grated ginger, onions, and green chilies. Sauté until the onions turn slightly brown. Add the mashed vegetables along with salt, cumin powder, and red chili powder. Mix well and cook until the flavors combine. Turn off the heat and let the mixture cool. -
Form the Patties:
Once the mixture has cooled, shape it into small lemon-sized balls and flatten them into cylindrical patty shapes. Set aside. -
Coating the Patties:
In a bowl, mix corn flour and water to create a smooth paste. Dip each patty into the corn flour mixture and then roll it in whole wheat bread crumbs. Repeat for all the patties. -
Shallow Fry the Patties:
Heat oil in a wide pan for shallow frying. Once the oil is piping hot, reduce the flame to medium. Carefully place the coated patties in the pan and shallow fry until all sides are golden brown, about 1 minute per side. Remove and drain on kitchen towels. -
Assemble the Burger:
Slice the burger buns and spread a generous amount of Veeba Burger Mayonnaise on the bottom half. Place a veggie chop patty on top and layer with onion slices, tomato slices, and a few iceberg lettuce leaves. Top with the other half of the bun.
