This simple, nutritious recipe of Buttered Peas Puree is perfect for babies starting solids from 6 months onwards. Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Green peas (Matar)
  • 1/2 tablespoon Unsalted butter
  • A pinch of Salt

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Yield: 1 serving

Instructions:

  1. Start by pressure cooking 1 cup of fresh green peas with 2 tablespoons of water and a pinch of salt for 2 whistles. Turn off the heat and release the pressure immediately by running cold water over the cooker.
  2. Drain any excess water from the peas.
  3. In a pan, melt 1/2 tablespoon of unsalted butter over low heat.
  4. Once the butter melts, add the cooked peas to the pan and sauté them for about 2 minutes until they are well-coated with the butter.
  5. Turn off the flame and let the peas cool down.
  6. Once cooled, transfer the peas to a blender and blend until smooth.
  7. Serve the Buttered Peas Puree in a bowl, ready to feed your baby. This can be served as a lunch or an evening meal for babies 6 months and older.
