Title: Savory Beef Meatballs (Bakso Sapi)

Ingredients:

  • Meatballs:
    • 250 grams ground beef
    • 1 egg white
    • 3 tablespoons tapioca flour
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1 teaspoon fried shallots (finely crushed)
    • 2 cloves garlic (lightly fried)
    • 4 ice cubes (2×2 cm)
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    • Water (for boiling)
  • Broth:
    • Water from boiling meatballs
    • 2 cloves garlic (lightly fried and crushed)
    • Green onions
    • Salt
    • Pepper
    • Celery

Preparation Steps:

  1. Prepare the Meatball Mixture:

    • In a food processor, combine the ground beef, egg white, tapioca flour, salt, black pepper, fried shallots, lightly fried garlic, ice cubes, and baking powder. Process until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  2. Shape the Meatballs:

    • Heat a pot of water until it is almost boiling. This temperature helps ensure the meatballs have a smooth texture.
    • Using your hands, shape the meat mixture into small balls and carefully drop them into the hot water.
  3. Cook the Meatballs:

    • Boil the meatballs until they float to the surface and are fully cooked.
  4. Prepare the Broth:

    • Use the water from boiling the meatballs as your base. Add the lightly fried and crushed garlic to the water.
    • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Add chopped green onions and celery for added flavor and garnish.
  5. Serve:

    • Ladle the meatballs into serving bowls and pour the hot broth over them. Garnish with additional green onions and celery if desired.

Enjoy your homemade Bakso Sapi with a deliciously savory broth!
