Japanese Tofu with Black Pepper Chicken

Ingredients:

  • 1 block Japanese tofu, cut into cubes
  • Cornstarch, for coating
  • Oil, for frying
  • 150 grams chicken fillet, diced
  • ½ onion, sliced (adjust to taste)
  • 1 sachet Saori Black Pepper Sauce
  • Water, as needed
  • 1 green onion, sliced
  • Optional: sautéed carrots and green beans for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Coat the tofu cubes evenly with cornstarch. Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat and fry the tofu until golden brown. Remove from the oil and set aside.

  2. Cook the Onion: In a separate pan, sauté the sliced onion until fragrant and translucent.

  3. Add the Chicken: Incorporate the diced chicken into the pan with the onions. Stir in the Saori Black Pepper Sauce and cook, allowing the chicken to brown and absorb the flavors. Add water as needed to create a flavorful sauce and ensure the chicken is cooked through and tender.

  4. Combine Ingredients: Once the chicken is fully cooked and the sauce has thickened, add the fried tofu to the pan. Gently stir to combine, allowing the tofu to soak up some of the sauce.

  5. Garnish and Serve: Transfer the mixture to a serving dish. Garnish with sliced green onions and optionally, serve with sautéed carrots and green beans on the side.

Enjoy this savory and spicy dish as a perfect complement to steamed rice for a delightful meal!
