Ingredients:

1 Boneless, skinless chicken breast
1 Shrimp
2 Turkey sausage
1 Zatarain’s jambalaya mix
1 Creole rice mix
1 Red bell pepper
2 Green bell pepper
1 Stewed tomatoes
Chili pepper
Black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Start by heating oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the boneless, skinless chicken breast to the skillet and cook until fully cooked and no longer pink in the center, approximately 5-7 minutes per side.
  3. Once the chicken is cooked through, remove it from the skillet and set it aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the turkey sausage and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon as it cooks, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  5. Next, add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they are almost pink, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Season the meats and shrimp with chili pepper and black pepper, according to your taste preferences.
  7. Chop the red and green bell peppers into small pieces and add them to the skillet. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the peppers are slightly softened.
  8. Stir in the Zatarain’s jambalaya mix and creole rice mix, ensuring that they are well combined with the meats and vegetables.
  9. Add the stewed tomatoes to the skillet, mixing them in with the other ingredients.
  10. Follow the directions on the back of the Zatarain’s jambalaya mix box for the appropriate amount of water to add.
  11. Cover the skillet and allow the jambalaya to simmer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the rice is tender and has absorbed all of the liquid, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  12. Once the rice is cooked through, remove the skillet from the heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes before serving.
  13. Serve the jambalaya hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley or green onions if desired.
