Ingredients:
- 600 ml Milk
- 100 ml Fresh Cream (I used Amul cream)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 50 grams Caster Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Cornflour
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Instructions:
- In a large saucepan, combine the milk, fresh cream, cornflour, and vanilla extract. Stir well, ensuring the cornflour is fully dissolved.
- Place the saucepan over high heat, bringing the mixture to a boil while stirring constantly.
- Once the mixture begins to boil, lower the heat to a simmer. Add the caster sugar to the custard and continue stirring until the mixture thickens.
- Keep stirring constantly to prevent lumps from forming. The mixture can quickly thicken, so don’t leave it unattended.
- After the custard thickens, continue stirring for a few more minutes, then remove from heat.
- Transfer the vanilla custard to a bowl and let it cool. Serve chilled on top of puddings, fruit custards, or alongside desserts of your choice.
