Buttermilk Chicken Sticks
Ingredients:
- 200 grams chicken breast, cut into sticks
- 100 ml fresh milk mixed with 1 tablespoon lemon juice (let sit for 15 minutes to curdle)
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 150 grams all-purpose flour (I recommend using Putri brand for less saltiness)
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions:
- Begin by slicing the chicken breast into stick-shaped pieces or strips.
- In a bowl, combine the fresh milk and lemon juice, and let it sit for 15 minutes to create a buttermilk mixture.
- Add the minced garlic, salt, dried parsley, and freshly ground black pepper to the buttermilk mixture. Stir well to combine.
- Place the chicken sticks into the buttermilk mixture, ensuring they are well coated. Allow them to marinate for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors infuse.
- After marinating, coat each chicken stick with all-purpose flour, shaking off any excess.
- Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the coated chicken sticks in the hot oil until they are golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Ensure they are cooked through.
- Remove the chicken sticks from the pan and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot and enjoy your delicious buttermilk chicken sticks! 😊
