Description:

These Wonderful Oatmeal Cookies are not just good, they’re absolutely delightful! 😋 Simple to make and bursting with flavor, they’re perfect for any occasion. Just be sure to space them out on the baking sheet as they spread while baking, resulting in a thin, crispy exterior and a chewy interior. Feel free to customize them with your favorite flavorings, nuts, or chocolate chips for an extra special touch.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal

Instructions:

Step Description
1 In a medium-sized bowl, combine all ingredients except oats.
2 Using a pastry cutter or fork, cut in the margarine until the mixture resembles crumbly pie dough.
3 Add the oats to the mixture and work it in with your hands until well incorporated. Then, roll the dough into small balls.
4 Place the dough balls onto a baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart. Flatten them slightly with your hand.
5 Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), and bake the cookies for about 15 minutes or until they are lightly browned around the edges.
6 Once baked, remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Recipe Notes:

  • These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week, but they are so delicious that they probably won’t last that long! 🤤
  • Feel free to get creative with your add-ins! Chocolate chips, raisins, nuts, or even dried fruit would all be wonderful additions to these cookies.
  • If you prefer thicker cookies, you can chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before baking. This will help prevent them from spreading too much in the oven.
  • Enjoy these Wonderful Oatmeal Cookies with a glass of milk for the ultimate treat! 🥛
