Chicken Egg Roll ala Hokben Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Wrapper:
- 8 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 egg (white and yolk)
- 2 tbsp margarine
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- Water, as needed
For the Filling:

- 1/4 kg boneless chicken, diced
- 1 egg white
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp ground pepper
- Salt and sugar, to taste
Instructions:

Heat margarine in a non-stick pan until melted. Allow to cool slightly, then transfer to a mixing bowl along with the other wrapper ingredients. Beat until smooth, adjusting consistency with more flour if needed. The batter should be neither too thick nor too runny.

Wipe the non-stick pan used for margarine with a paper towel and heat over low flame.

Pour a few spoonfuls of wrapper batter into the pan, swirling to evenly coat the surface (similar to making crepes). Cook until set and lightly browned. Repeat to make approximately 3 wrappers. Set aside.

Blend all filling ingredients until smooth.

Place a wrapper on a sheet of plastic wrap (or any wide surface). Spoon some filling onto the wrapper and roll tightly. Repeat until all filling is used.

Steam the rolls for 10 minutes over low heat.

Remove from steamer and slice diagonally.

Coat each slice with flour and fry over low heat until golden brown.
