Crispy Ayam Popcorn Recipe
Ingredients:
- 250 grams chicken breast, diced (not too small)
- A pinch of salt
- 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon tapioca flour or cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- A pinch of pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Optional: garlic powder
Instructions:
- 
Prepare the Chicken: - Rinse the chicken breast under running water and dice into bite-sized pieces. Season lightly with salt and gently massage. Set aside.

Prepare the Coating: - In a shallow bowl, combine all-purpose flour, tapioca flour (or cornstarch), salt, pepper, and garlic powder (if using). Mix well to combine.

Coat the Chicken: - Heat a generous amount of oil in a frying pan or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Dip each piece of chicken into the flour mixture, making sure it’s well coated. Shake off any excess flour.

Dip in Egg and Breadcrumbs: - Dip the flour-coated chicken into the beaten egg, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
- Roll the chicken in breadcrumbs until fully covered, pressing gently to adhere the breadcrumbs to the chicken.

Fry the Ayam Popcorn: - Carefully place the coated chicken pieces into the hot oil. Fry in batches to avoid overcrowding, until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per batch.

Serve: - Once golden and cooked through, remove the chicken from the oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
