Ayam Pentol: Crispy Indonesian Chicken Wings

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg chicken wing midsections
  • All-purpose flour
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Steak spice

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken Wings:
Begin by cutting off the tips of the chicken wings. Carefully pull and remove the small bones from the wing segments. Rinse the chicken wings thoroughly and drain them well.

  2. Season the Chicken Wings:
Coat the wings evenly with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and steak spice. Let them marinate for about 15 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse into the meat.

  3. Prepare the Breading Stations:
Set up two separate bowls for breading. In one bowl, mix all-purpose flour with water and additional steak spice to create a wet batter. In the second bowl, place plain all-purpose flour for the dry coating.

  4. Coat the Chicken Wings:
Dip each marinated wing into the wet flour mixture, ensuring it is well-coated. Then, transfer the wing to the dry flour bowl, rolling it until fully covered.

  5. Rest the Wings:
Let the breaded wings rest for 10 minutes to allow the coating to set.

  6. Fry the Chicken Wings:
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken wings, turning them occasionally, until they are golden brown and cooked through.

  7. Serve:
Once cooked, remove the wings from the pan and drain any excess oil. Serve the crispy Ayam Pentol with your favorite dipping sauce for a delicious treat. Enjoy!

Tip: For extra flavor, consider serving with a side of spicy dipping sauce or a tangy dipping sauce of your choice.

Feel free to adjust the seasoning according to your taste preferences and enjoy this crispy Indonesian delight!
