  • 100 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sago flour (tapioca flour)
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 500 ml milk
  • A pinch of salt
  • Smoked beef
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Bread crumbs (for coating)
  • Oil for frying
  • Sweet chili sauce (for serving)
  • Mayonnaise (for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Batter:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sago flour, and a pinch of salt. Whisk together.
    • Add the egg, milk, and coconut oil to the dry ingredients. Mix well until the batter is smooth and free of lumps. For a finer texture, you can strain the batter through a sieve.
  2. Cook the Crepes:

    • Heat a non-stick skillet over low heat and lightly grease it with a small amount of margarine or oil.
    • Pour a ladleful of batter into the skillet, spreading it evenly to form a thin crepe. Cook until the edges start to look dry, then carefully lift the crepe from the skillet. There is no need to flip it.
    • Continue this process until all the batter is used. Allow the crepes to cool completely before using.
  3. Assemble the Risoles:

    • Place a slice of smoked beef and a generous amount of mozzarella cheese on each crepe.
    • Roll up the crepe tightly to enclose the filling, securing the ends if needed.
  4. Coat and Fry:

    • Dip each rolled risole into a bowl of beaten egg, then coat it evenly with bread crumbs.
    • Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the coated risoles until golden brown and crispy on all sides. Drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  5. Serve:
