Prepare the Ingredients:
Begin by gathering all your ingredients. Mash the tofu until it’s a coarse, crumble-like texture. Grate the carrot and cut the boiled corn vermicelli into smaller pieces. Finely chop the celery and green onions. -
Process the Chicken:
Using a food chopper or processor, blend the chicken breast with the garlic cloves and Ladaku seasoning until the mixture is smooth and well combined. -
Mix the Batter:
In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed tofu, grated carrot, cut corn vermicelli, chopped celery, and green onions. Add salt and optional chicken bouillon powder to taste. Mix in the processed chicken mixture until everything is evenly incorporated. -
Prepare for Steaming:
Line two 30x10x4 cm brownie pans with plastic wrap and lightly grease them with oil. Pour the tofu mixture evenly into the prepared pans and press down firmly to compact the mixture. -
Steam the Mixture:
Place the pans in a steamer and steam for about 20-30 minutes, or until the mixture is set and cooked through. Allow it to cool before cutting. -
Cut and Fry:
Once the tofu mixture has cooled and set, cut it into bite-sized pieces. Prepare the dipping batter by mixing the all-purpose flour batter mix with water according to the package instructions. -
Fry the Tahu Fantasi:
Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Dip each piece of tofu in the batter and fry until golden brown and crispy. -
Serve and Enjoy:
Serve the Tahu Fantasi warm and crispy as a delightful appetizer or side dish. Enjoy the savory and satisfying flavors of this Indonesian delicacy!
Tips:
- Ensure that the tofu mixture is well compacted in the pan to achieve the right texture after steaming.
- Adjust the seasoning to your taste. You can add more spices or herbs if desired.
