Ingredients
Ingredient | Amount |
---|---|
Tempe (steamed and mashed) | 250 grams |
Ground beef or chicken | 150 grams (or 200 grams beef) |
Breadcrumbs | 5 tablespoons (Kobe white flour) |
Eggs | 2 large |
Onion (medium, diced) | 1 |
Garlic (crushed and chopped) | 4 cloves |
Ground black pepper | 1/4 teaspoon |
Salt | 1/2 teaspoon |
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed tempe, ground beef or chicken, breadcrumbs, eggs, diced onion, chopped garlic, ground black pepper, and salt.
- Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well incorporated and the mixture is firm. Taste the mixture to adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Shape the mixture into round patties, then flatten them slightly. If needed, weigh each patty to ensure uniformity.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the patties and cook until the bottom is golden brown. Flip the patties and cook the other side until it turns golden brown as well.
- Remove the patties from the pan and let them cool. They are perfect as burger fillings or can be enjoyed as is with a side of sambal sauce.
- If you want to store the patties in the freezer, cook them in the pan until they are half done, allow them to cool completely, then place them in an airtight container or freezer bag. They can be stored for up to two weeks, and after frying, they will still taste great!
