Tempe Goreng Special

Ingredients

200 grams Tempe
2 cloves Garlic
1 small packet Coriander
To taste Ground pepper
To taste Turmeric powder
To taste Salt
1 stalk Green onion
1 stalk Celery
4 tablespoons All-purpose flour (I use Segitiga)
As needed Water (to make a thick batter)

Instructions

  1. Begin by finely grinding the garlic and coriander together to create a fragrant paste.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine this paste with the all-purpose flour, ground pepper, turmeric powder, and salt, stirring until well incorporated.
  3. Slice the tempe into thin pieces, then immerse them in the prepared batter, ensuring they are fully coated.
  4. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat and carefully add the battered tempe pieces. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 3-5 minutes on each side.
  5. For a variation, you can also prepare a wetter batter for a softer texture, reminiscent of tempe mendoan. Adjust cooking time as necessary to achieve your desired doneness.
