Tempe & Tahu with Chicken Satay Filling Recipe
Ingredients:
For the Tempe & Tahu:
- 2 medium-sized blocks of tempe, cut into cubes
- 6 pieces of white tofu, cut into cubes
For the Chicken Satay Filling:
- 5 shallots
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 5 skewers of chicken satay
- 1 tomato
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 5 birdโs eye chilies (adjust to taste)
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
For the Coating Batter:
- 5 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cloves of garlic
- 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon powder
- A pinch of coriander
- Water, as needed

Prepare the Tempe and Tahu:
- Cut the tempe into cubes according to your preference. Slice part of each cube to create a pocket for the filling. Do the same with the tofu.

Make the Chicken Satay Filling:
- In a blender, combine the shallots, garlic, tomato, sugar, birdโs eye chilies, and a pinch of salt. Blend until smooth.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the blended mixture and cook until fragrant.
- Stir in the chicken bouillon powder and adjust the seasoning to taste.
