Perkedel Tempe Recipe

Ingredients

Ingredient Quantity
Tempe 1 block
Garlic (finely minced) 2 cloves
Egg yolk 1 piece
Green onion (sliced thin) 1 stalk
Celery leaves (sliced thin) 1 stalk
Salt to taste
Chicken stock powder to taste
Pepper to taste
Coating Ingredients:
Egg white 1 piece
Bread crumbs as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tempe: Begin by steaming or boiling the tempe until fully cooked. If boiling, ensure it is tender.

  2. Mix the Ingredients: Once cooked, mash the tempe in a bowl until smooth. Add the minced garlic, egg yolk, sliced green onion, sliced celery, salt, chicken stock powder, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined. For a flavor check, fry a small portion of the mixture.

  3. Shape the Patties: Take portions of the mixture and shape them into round patties, resembling traditional perkedel.

  4. Coat the Patties: Dip each patty into the egg white, ensuring it’s well coated, then roll it in bread crumbs until evenly covered.

  5. Fry the Patties: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the tempe patties until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.

  6. Serve: Once cooked, remove from oil and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Serve warm and enjoy your homemade Perkedel Tempe!
