Ingredients

White tofu 4 blocks
Carrot 1 (diced or shredded)
Green onions To taste
Bird’s eye chili 2 (sliced)
Garlic 3 cloves (sliced)
Shallots 3 (sliced)
Salt To taste
Ground pepper To taste
Flavor enhancer To taste
Egg 1 (beaten)
Cooking oil For frying

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Rinse the tofu under clean water, then gently mash it with your hands until crumbly.

  2. Prep the Vegetables: Peel and dice the carrot, or shred it using a cheese grater. Slice the green onions, garlic, shallots, and bird’s eye chili, and combine all the chopped ingredients in a mixing bowl.

  3. Combine Ingredients: Add the flavor enhancer, salt, and the beaten egg to the mixture. Stir well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

  4. Heat the Oil: In a frying pan, heat the cooking oil over medium heat.

  5. Shape the Tofu: Form the tofu mixture into your desired shape, dip each piece into the beaten egg, and then carefully place them in the hot oil.

  6. Fry: Fry until golden brown and crispy. Remove from the pan and let them drain on paper towels.
