Tahu Goreng with Black Pepper Beef Sauce
Ingredients:
- 10 pieces of silken tofu or Bandung tofu
- 1 packet of Saori black pepper beef sauce
- 1 onion
- 3 shallots
- Green chili peppers, to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
- Sugar, to taste
- Salt, to taste
- Chicken flavor seasoning (Masako), to taste
- Kecap Bango (sweet soy sauce), to taste
Instructions:
-
Prepare the Tofu:
Start by thoroughly washing the tofu and then deep-frying it until it turns a golden yellow. Once fried, drain the tofu on paper towels to remove excess oil. -
Slice the Aromatics:
Thinly slice the onion, shallots, and green chili peppers. These ingredients will add depth of flavor to the sauce. -
Sauté the Aromatics:
In a pan, heat a small amount of oil and sauté the sliced onion, shallots, and green chili peppers until they become fragrant and the onions turn translucent. -
Make the Sauce:
Add the Saori black pepper beef sauce to the pan, followed by a bit of water. Stir and let the mixture come to a boil. -
Season the Sauce:
Once boiling, season the sauce with sugar, salt, chicken flavor seasoning (Masako), and kecap Bango to taste. Add ground black pepper as desired for extra spice. -
Combine and Simmer:
Gently add the fried tofu into the sauce. Stir occasionally, allowing the tofu to absorb the flavors. Let it simmer until the sauce thickens and coats the tofu. -
Serve:
Once the sauce has thickened and the tofu is well-coated, remove from heat. Serve hot with steamed rice.
