Martabak Tahu

Ingredients

Firm tofu 5 pieces
Spring roll wrappers 10 sheets
Green onions 2 stalks
Egg 1
Seasoning powder (Masako) 1 packet
Granulated sugar 1 teaspoon
Cooking oil As needed
All-purpose flour 2 tablespoons
Water As needed to mix with flour

Instructions

  1. Begin by preparing a mixing bowl. Crumble the firm tofu and add the seasoning powder, mashing it until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
  2. Chop the green onions and add them to the tofu mixture along with the granulated sugar. Stir well to incorporate.
  3. Crack the egg into the mixture and stir again until fully combined.
  4. Take a spring roll wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the tofu mixture in the center. Fold the wrapper over the filling and seal it by mixing the all-purpose flour with a bit of water to create a paste, which you can use to help the edges stick.
  5. Repeat the process until all the filling is used up.
  6. Heat the cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the filled wrappers into the oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Once cooked, remove from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot and enjoy your delicious Martabak Tahu!
