Crispy Tahu Perkedel (Crispy on the Outside, Soft on the Inside)

Ingredients:

  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 shallots
  • 1 sachet of Ladaku seasoning powder
  • 3 pieces of tofu (adjust quantity as desired)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Sugar, to taste
  • Chopped green onions or chives (optional)
  • 3 tablespoons Sasa Hot and Spicy All-Purpose Flour

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Aromatics: Start by finely grinding the garlic and shallots. You can use a food processor or mortar and pestle to achieve a smooth paste. Add salt and sugar to the mixture to taste.

  2. Incorporate the Tofu: Add the tofu to the garlic and shallot paste. Blend the tofu until it is well combined with the aromatic mixture, creating a uniform texture.

  3. Season the Mixture: Stir in 1 sachet of Ladaku seasoning powder and mix well. If using, chop the green onions or chives and fold them into the tofu mixture.

  4. Add Flour: Incorporate 3 tablespoons of Sasa Hot and Spicy All-Purpose Flour into the mixture. Stir until everything is evenly combined.

  5. Fry the Perkedel: Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Shape the tofu mixture into small patties or discs. Fry the patties in hot oil until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside.

  6. Drain and Serve: Remove the fried perkedel from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve warm and enjoy the crispy, flavorful delight!

This recipe combines the savory flavors of garlic and shallots with the heat of the Sasa Hot and Spicy Flour for a deliciously crispy on the outside, tender on the inside tofu perkedel. Perfect as a snack or an appetizer!
