Crispy Tahu Stir-Fry

Ingredients:

  • 5 medium-sized blocks of firm tofu
  • A handful of celery leaves
  • For the Spice Paste:
    • 6 red curly chilies
    • 3 bird’s eye chilies
    • 3 cloves of garlic
    • 1/2 tablespoon granulated sugar
    • Salt, to taste
  • 1/2 packet of seasoning powder (any flavor)
  • Cooking oil, as needed

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Cut the tofu into thin slices and fry in hot oil until they become crispy and firm. While the tofu is frying, prepare the spice paste.

  2. Make the Spice Paste: Blend the red curly chilies, bird’s eye chilies, garlic, and granulated sugar into a smooth paste. Set aside.

  3. Prepare the Celery: Finely slice the celery leaves.

  4. Stir-Fry the Spice Paste: In a separate pan, heat a little oil and sauté the spice paste until it becomes aromatic.

  5. Add Sugar and Seasoning: Stir in 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar and continue to sauté for a few more minutes.

  6. Combine Tofu and Spice Paste: Add the fried tofu slices to the pan with the spice paste. Stir well to ensure that the tofu is evenly coated with the paste.

  7. Season and Adjust: Sprinkle in the seasoning powder and adjust the salt to taste. Mix thoroughly and let it cook for another few minutes.

  8. Finish with Celery: Add the sliced celery leaves and stir until they are slightly wilted and well combined with the tofu.

  9. Serve: Remove from heat and serve the crispy tahu stir-fry hot, as a delightful side or main dish.

Enjoy the crispy texture of the tofu combined with the rich flavors of the spice paste and fresh celery!
