Tahu Isi Sosis Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 large steamed white tofu (cut into 4 pieces, then each piece sliced diagonally into 2, and hollowed out)
  • 2 sausages, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 3 shallots, fried and finely ground
  • 1 egg
  • Green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt, pepper, and seasoning to taste
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Tofu: Begin by steaming the tofu until cooked. Once cooled, cut each block of tofu into 4 pieces. Diagonally slice each piece into 2 and carefully hollow out the center to create space for the filling.

  2. Make the Filling: In a bowl, mash the hollowed-out tofu. Add the diced sausages, egg, and finely ground shallots. Mix well. Season with salt, pepper, and your preferred seasoning. Incorporate the oyster sauce and sesame oil into the mixture.

  3. Stuff the Tofu: Carefully fill each hollowed-out tofu piece with the prepared filling, pressing it in firmly to ensure it stays in place.

  4. Coat and Cook: If the filling seems loose, beat an extra egg and use it to coat the stuffed tofu. Lightly dredge each piece in flour before frying. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and fry the tofu pieces until they are golden brown and crispy.

  5. Serve: Once cooked, drain the tofu on paper towels. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions. You may also opt to steam the tofu instead of frying for a lighter version.
