Kim’s Mars Bar Square is a decadent delight that packs a punch of sweetness and nostalgia. Rich and indulgent, this square is perfect for the holiday season but also for any time you’re craving a little sweetness. It’s so good that I had to ask for the recipe, and now I’m sharing it with you! Be warned, though—it’s so rich that you’ll want to cut it into small pieces. For an extra special touch, try placing them into mini muffin cup papers.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup margarine
  • 3 Mars Bars
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1 1/2 cups corn syrup
  • 1/8 cup margarine

Instructions:

  1. Melt first 3 ingredients together: In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the 3/4 cup of margarine and the Mars Bars, stirring constantly until smooth and well combined.

  2. Add Rice Krispies, and mix well: Once the margarine and Mars Bars are melted, remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the 6 cups of Rice Krispies until they are evenly coated with the melted mixture.

  3. Pour into a 9X9 foil lined pan: Line a 9×9 inch pan with foil, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Pour the Rice Krispies mixture into the prepared pan, spreading it out evenly and pressing it down firmly with a spatula or the back of a spoon.

  4. Cool slightly while preparing topping: Allow the mixture to cool slightly while you prepare the topping.

  5. Prepare topping: In a separate saucepan, melt together the 1 1/2 cups of corn syrup and the 1/8 cup of margarine over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth.

  6. Pour topping over top and refrigerate: Once the topping mixture is smooth and well combined, pour it evenly over the top of the Rice Krispies mixture in the pan, spreading it out with a spatula to cover the entire surface.

  7. Keep cool until ready to serve: Place the pan in the refrigerator to chill until the topping is set, about 1-2 hours. Once set, remove the pan from the refrigerator and use the foil overhang to lift the square out of the pan.

  8. Cut into small pieces: Place the square on a cutting board and use a sharp knife to cut it into small, bite-sized pieces.
