Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt, ensuring an even distribution of dry ingredients.

  2. Add in the buttermilk, butter, and vanilla, then beat the mixture using an electric mixer on low speed for approximately 30 seconds, scraping the sides of the bowl as needed to incorporate all ingredients.

  3. Increase the mixer speed to medium-high and continue beating for about 2 minutes, ensuring the batter becomes smooth and creamy, with no lumps remaining.

  4. Add the egg whites to the mixture and beat for an additional 2 minutes until the batter is light and fluffy.

  5. Preheat your oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC) and grease/flour a 9x13x2 inch baking pan.

  6. Pour the prepared batter into the greased pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
